A shrine no more
This now neglected grotto situated in the grounds of St John's school was once a shrine to the Virgin Mary when the school was originally a convent.

A reminder of the past

Jenny Pine's grave. Broadway.
Just another crossroads? Broadway, Convent road and Bickwell lane. Local legend has it that in the wooded area to the right of the post box is the grave of a young lady who took her own life. Very little else is known about her.
Unlike Dartmoor's Jay there are no flowers.
