Plashet Park
Plashet Park was established in 1889 when J.H. Bethell, with the help of The Vicar of East Ham, secured the grounds of Wood House, a late 18th century weatherboarded house, standing just to the west of High Street North, East Ham. A grant of £3,000 was obtained from the City Parochial Trustees towards the cost of making it a public park. The park was opened in 1891. Further land was later added to achieve the park's present size. This is in the south-east corner of the park. Woodhouse Grove is to the right.
