Nantwich: St Mary's church, east end
Often called "the cathedral of south Cheshire" from its stately proportions. The red sandstone is very typical of the area; the octagonal tower is unusual here or indeed anywhere.
Seen from the car park on The Gullet, an area that has seen considerable redevelopment opening up what was previously an area of narrow alleys and yards.

St Mary, Nantwich: high altar kneelers
These kneelers at the communion rail were embroidered for the Queen's diamond jubilee in 2002, and the text along the front reads "Draw near with faith. Receive the body of our Lord Jesus Christ which was given for you" (words from the Book of Common Prayer). The mosaic floor of the chancel was made for Queen Victoria's jubilee, thus the tradition was being continued.
