Floods on Ettington Road
Due to very heavy rain over the previous weeks, and the level of the River Dene being high, water was coming up out of the drains on Ettington Road, and covering the road surface. The classic vehicle passing through the standing water is a 1949 Riley RM 2 1/2 litre Roadster, sold at Beaulieu on 23/7/98 for £24150.

Expertly repaired wall
This wall bounding a property on Ettington Road, is in the process of being repaired/rebuilt due to a serious bowing out issue. The section nearest the photographer has already been completed to a very high standard, and the section behind the fencing is still propped up with scaffolding jacks awaiting its turn. The sign reads "Pete Harris Builder Ltd." The Stags Head public house in Chestnut Square can just be seen in the distance on the right. I have now learnt (October 2013) that because the wall is in the Wellesbourne Conservation Area, planning permission is required to repair it? This has been applied for, and presumably work will resume once it has been granted.
