Open space by Cawston Grange Drive
A bare tree seems to emphasise the wintry feel as dusk approaches and the freezing fog gets thicker.

Cawston Grange Drive, Cawston Grange Estate
The green lights of the pelican crossing on Cawston Grange Drive glare through the murk as the freezing fog thickens in the encroaching dusk. In foggy conditions sounds are muted and the Covid-19 lockdown has reduced traffic levels creating an eerie silence on this normally busy road.

Fields west of Cawston
The gate once gave access for the farmer across the Rugby - Leamington railway, but it has clearly not been used for a long time. The Rugby Western Relief Road will pass across the middle distance.

Postbox topper at Cawston
A jubilee-themed topper ('yarn bomb') has appeared on this postbox on Gerard Road. The effort is impressive but the crown does seem to have gone a bit wonky.

Rugby's Western Relief Road was opened in 2010. In this view a Calor truck approaches the Whitefriars Drive roundabout; with traffic levels depressed due to the Covid-19 lockdown it is the only vehicle in sight.

Cawston Grange Estate
The late afternoon October sun catches some of the new houses on the Cawston Grange Estate. The estate has been designed with plenty of open space and footpaths - this one running parallel with Cawston Grange Drive.

Roundabout - Cawston Grange Drive
This roundabout at the end of Cawston Grange Drive, on the edge of the Cawston Grange Estate, currently serves little purpose (and sees even less traffic). In time , however, there will be a link across the old railway to the new Rugby Western Relief Road.

Rugby Western Relief Road
Not actually part of the new road itself, this will form a link from Cawston Grange Estate. The tunnel preserves the course of the Rugby - Leamington railway and is seen here from an old farm access bridge.
