Partial view of St Chad's Church, Hillmorton Road, Wood End, north Coventry
St Chad's also serves the neighbourhoods of Henley Green and Manor House. It is one of the three local churches designed by Sir Basil Spence, architect of the new Coventry Cathedral. At the time of my visit views of the church were obstructed but it appears very similar to the Church of St John the Divine, Willenhall on the southeast side of the city: Image This view is from Bretford Road. Church of St Chad, Wood End, Coventry
The Church of England parish church of Wood End, St Chad's was built between 1954 and 1957 by Wimpey to designs by Basil Spence. Spence was the architect of two very similar Coventry churches, in Willenhall and Tile Hill, and also, of course, of the new cathedral of Coventry, built alongside the old cathedral that had been destroyed in 1940. St Chad's is a Grade II listed building; see its entry in the Historic England site https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1422602?section=official-list-entry .
