1-14 Royal Promenade, Victoria Square, Bristol
Victorian Italianate terrace forming the north-west side of Victoria Square. By William Bateman, c1851. Emphasised centre and ends. Sort of impressive, but possessing neither the refinement of the Georgians nor the craziness of full-blooded Victoriana. Grade II* listed.

Obviously related to the name, but I have been unable to find out the derivation of the 'Royal' appellation. See http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5442028 for location.

Albert Lodge, Victoria Square
Mid-19th century house, probably designed by J Marmont at the same time as the neighbouring Royal Promenade terrace, with which it shares a number of architectural details. Listed Grade II, the listing includes the garden railings and gates.

Towards Boyce's Avenue
Looking west from Victoria Square, across the road to the Arch House. As befits such an architecturally rich area of Bristol, the streetlight is of an appropriate design.

Royal Promenade
The north side of Victoria Square is made up of a single row of town houses, obviously designed as a complete unit. Above the centre of the row is a version of the royal coat of arms. See Image
