Popular cafe with fine views out over the sea as well as being in charge of the miniature golf course to its rear.

Roedean Cafe
Also the building dealing with those wishing to use the miniature golf course behind. The cafe is open to anybody but not today as the sign in the foreground is actually not telling the truth.

Road works by the Roedean Cafe
The work between the carriageways seems to be more to do with a pedestrian crossing than with the actual road. Right next door to a sewer construction shaft site to the left, again between the carriageways.

Marine Drive Pumping Station
Part of the Brighton and Hove Wastewater Treatment Scheme completed in 2013, to improve the quality of water discharged to sea. The scheme required new tunnels and pumping stations between Brighton Marina and a new treatment plant at Peacehaven, and a new discharge pipe at Friars Bay. A 17.5m diameter 46m deep shaft was dug here (the deepest on the project). See http://www.waterprojectsonline.com/case_studies/2010/Southern_Brighton_&_Hove_2010.pdf

Roedean Miniature Golf Course
Located in the vee bounded by the houses of Black Rock to the west, Roedean Road, the B2118, to the north and Marine Drive, the A259, to the south. The current miniature golf course dates from the early 1950s though there were golf links here in the mid 1930s. Old maps also show the existence of Garden House roughly located on the flat area to the left which existed here from at least the 1870s until its demolition in the mid 1930s.. On Rottingdean's 1839 tithe map the course covers an old field called Bank Furlong. Image is visible in the distance.
