New Road, Freshford
From the corner of Freshford Lane, where a signpost arm pointing along New Road shows that this is the way to Bath via Limpley Stoke. The arm pointing left along Freshford Lane shows 9 (miles) to Frome, 12½ to Warminster. Another sign points along Freshford Lane towards the village hall and shop.

Sparkling ales
"Freshford brewery - sparkling ales" An old painted wall advertisement on a building in Freshford gives the impression it was either a public house or a part of the nearby brewery. The dog in the sign hoisted above the road adds to the thought of the former.

Freshford, Somerset
A charming village where, if it weren't for the cars, time might have stood still. Scenes from the famous Ealing comedy 'The Titfield Thunderbolt' were filmed here notably from St Peter's church, which occupies a commanding position in the village.

On the corner of High Street and Dark Lane. This used to be the corner of the village post office, entrance from Dark Lane. In May 2015, the post office is inside the Galleries shop http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4465714 on the north side of Freshford Lane.

Church Room 1896.
That's what the stone inscription reads, with the village notice board on the other side. However, examination of the old maps suggest this small building in the angle of two taller structures may be a little less ancient, possibly appearing around 1902.
