London Road West
These terraced houses of Bath Stone are on the south side of the old Fosse Way. This is the last flat straight section before the old Roman road climbs out of the valley of the Avon at Batheaston on its way north to the midlands and eventually Lincoln.

Old Milepost by the A4, London Road West, Batheaston
Cast iron post by the A4, in parish of BATHEASTON (BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET District), London Road West, by Bathway House, No. 144, set in dressed stone wall, on South side of road. Bath incised iron plate, erected by the Bath turnpike trust in the 18th century.
