Dill's famous Bath polonies
Perhaps no longer famous, but the lettering above the Early Learning Centre in Cheap Street is a reminder of the variety of sausage named loosely after Bologna in Italy and more usually associated with the north of England. Cheap Street runs west from Bath Abbey to become Westgate Street. This is the north side.

Abbey Churchyard, north side, Bath
Interesting to note the subtle differences in the Georgian style of architecture between the two main buildings in this image. The one on the left is Marshall Wade's House, the ground floor of which is occupied by a National Trust shop. The west front of the Abbey is just visible at the right of this image. Spot the CCTV camera?

This was once the home of Field Marshall Wade who commanded the troops in Bath at the time of the Jacobite risings. He later became Bath’s M.P.
