The school was founded in the mid-17th century for ‘the children of the poorer sort' by Nethersole who had married the daughter of Sir Henry Goodyer of Polesworth. Today the building is used as apartments.

Polesworth Nunnery Gateway
This gateway is locally known as the "Nunnery Gateway" and is the main entrance to Polesworth Abbey Church and is in High Street.
The "Tunnel" to the left was always known to us school kids as the "Dungeon Entry" because of the small dark room which was accessed through a very old wooden door inside the tunnel.
