Regency Nechells I
Yes, you read that right: a pair of stucco-fronted villas, with a third house off to the left with a recessed porch, 146-148 Nechells Park Road are survivors from a pre-industrial Nechells, a rural retreat from the city. Birmingham caught up with Nechells in the course of the 19th century and it became a densely-populated district of workers' houses, with mills and factories to either side, by the streams, canals and railways. These houses have survived, however, and are now Grade II listed buildings, circa 1830-40 according to the listing at the Historic England site https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1343125?section=official-list-entry .
