The food and shop area of these motorway services is at the north of the site, giving it this excellent view north from Woolley Edge of open fields, the M1, and across towards Dewsbury and Leeds. Hidden from view is a railway which is in a tunnel underneath the service area and M1, and emerges in a cutting beyond the woods the other side of the motorway.
