The round plaque on the wall of this house reads: THOMAS ARNOLD D.D. HEAD MASTER OF RUGBY SCHOOL 1828 - 1842 WAS BORN IN THIS HOUSE 13th JUNE 1795 The house is situated on Birmingham Road, just opposite Cowes Police Station.
