This level crossing previously gave pedestrians free access to cross the dismantled rail line which used to run from Thornton to Leven https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7552308 but, since the Levenmouth Rail Link https://www.railway-technology.com/projects/levenmouth-rail-link-project-fife-scotland/ is being reinstated, the level crossing has been closed
