Like its neighbour to the west, Hill of Foudland, the Hill of Tillymorgan is formed of slate, and it was extensively worked at one time, resulting in numerous hollows and mounds all over the higher part of the hill. In the distance is the distinctively shaped Mither Tap of Bennachie.
