Until fairly recently this was the local branch of Nationwide Building Society, but what we see now is primarily an early 18th century house (1726) that is built onto an even earlier, mid 16th century, rear section. The whole was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101207741-43-and-44-queen-square-st-peters-ward#.Y5OrrnbP3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1207741 in 1949.
