Looking north-west on an increasingly dull and drizzly morning. The modern apartments on the right are in Kilby Drive, Ladywood. The canal to Wolverhampton was built under supervision of James Brindley during 1768-1772, then rerouted and straightened by Thomas Telford during 1824-1838, this section by 1827. One of Telford's alterations was to build towpaths on both sides, and they have been retained here.
