The Queens Hotel was a private residence called South Kirklands, which was built sometime prior to 1855. It was originally semi-detached, with one house having an entrance facing Greenock Road and the other facing Brisbane Street. The building became a hotel in the 1940s. The Queens Hotel has been granted planning permission to demolish the existing building and be replaced by fourteen, two bedroom luxury apartments.
