The small grass area at the junction of New Road and Breach Road is given over to some traditional features. However, a closer look at the stone reveals that it is not a typical date stone or marks some regal milestone. Rather, it celebrates the opening of the Bourton by-pass on 13th July, 1992. It also notes the contribution by the Bourton Bypass Celebration Committee!
