At Clements Gate. Clements Gate > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5599230 is a new housing development by David Wilson Homes, described as an exclusive range of three, four and five-bedroom homes with unique architectural details and distinctive exteriors. This road is named after Serjeant Gordon (Lennox) Davy, who served with the 2nd Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment and died on 6 March 1940, aged 35, while the battalion was fighting a rearguard action on the La Bassee Canal near Bethune, France, in defence of the army withdrawal to Dunkirk. He is commemorated on the Poringland war memorial and buried at the Hinges Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
