The once derelict Great Northern Railway goods yard is now a place to go with cafes, bars and restaurants and the St Martins School of Art drawing in tourists and hipsters. The 1pm Eurostar service has just left St Pancras International Station and leaves through a modern cityscape reminiscent of the film Alphaville. The Camley Street nature reserve and the Grand Union Canal seem the antithesis of all this modernity.
