In the foreground is the junction of the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal (left), the Main Basin http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6095320 (right) and the Barge Arm (behind the camera). A tour boat is moored opposite, with Alexandra Warehouse behind. The warehouse was built in 1870 to store corn, later sugar. It burned down after five years but was rebuilt immediately.
