Carved stone post by the A414, in parish of HIGH ONGAR (EPPING FOREST District), Chelmsford Road, Norton Heath, near 'Milestone', by the road, on South side of road. Erected by the Epping & Ongar turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 9 / MILES / TO / EPPING : : LONDON / 25 : : 8 / MILES / TO / CHELMSFORD : Milestone Society National ID: EX_EPCH09.
