Ewen Fields is the home Hyde United which is now a member owned, semi-professional, community football club. A new pitch of MX TriMension turf is being laid by Greenfields. The high-tech 3D woven GreenFields® MX surface is much more advanced than the basic Baspograss pitch laid at Ewen Fields 30 years ago and offers a playing surface that is fully inspired by nature and on which players will feel "at home" due to the natural look and feel. The patented weave technology results in an extremely high tuft bind resulting in clumps of fibres retaining their vertical memory. This synthetic turf system has a long-lasting performance providing a player experience like that of natural grass with excellent ball roll, ball bounce, grip, traction and shock absorption. The pitch was used for the first time in Hyde United's friendly with Guiseley on July 19 and passed its FIFA test two days later.
