"Community Payback" is a project where offenders carry out unpaid work, usually in their local areas and managed by a Community Payback supervisor. The offenders are obligated to wear a high visibility orange vest while working; they have to work three or four days each week if unemployed, or outside working hours, during evenings or weekends if employed, and can expect to complete anything from 40 to 300 hours of work, depending on the seriousness of the crime committed.
