The road, here leading past the former Site 7 (Accommodation) of RAF Rackheath, when it was an active airfield during WW2, connected the various campsites associated with the aerodrome with each other. The water tower seen in mid-distance used to adjoin one of the accommodation huts which during the war were strung out along this road.
