National Theatre Live broadcast War Horse live from London’s West End to cinemas around the world on February 27, 2014, with a UK live audience of 155000+. War Horse was the first ever live theatre performance to be captured and broadcast in 4K, and was also recorded in HD. Since its first performance at the National Theatre in 2007, War Horse has become an international smash hit. The live broadcast included an interval interview, conducted by Emma Freud, with Michael Morpurgo (author) and Marianne Elliott (co-director). Before the performance commenced, the star of the show was seen in the bar, being photographed with 'celebs'; fortunately, it did not seem to affect his performance.
