The school currently has a role of 169 primary school pupils, though was built for a total of 215. There are a further 94 pupils in the nursery. When it opened in August 2007, it was Scotland’s first purpose-built Gaelic Medium School. The school has recently featured prominently in the local press because it has failed to attract a Gaelic-speaking applicant for the vacant post of Headteacher.
