The Grade II-listed Silver Arcade on High Street was designed by Amos Hall in 1889. Although unique, being the only one of its kind in Leicester, it was closed in 2000. It is currently being upgraded and the owners, Lukegate Ltd, are in the process of introducing several dramatic features including two new glass lifts and a spiral staircase.
