In 2004 the Marconi Company gave original equipment and documents to the University of Oxford. In July of 1897, Marconi was granted a British patent (No. 12039) for wireless telegraphy, and equipment from this period is on display. Marconi then founded the Wireless Telegraphy and Signal Company Ltd in London. In the photo a group from a conference are on a guided tour of the museum.
