An estate agents now occupies the former Charlton's Stores premises (a Grade II listed building) and which according to the facade dealt as a, 'wines & spirits, tea dealer and family grocer'. No 'double club card points' in those days, but loose tea in brown paper bags, sugar and everything loose weighed in lb's and oz's, probably bacon sliced to thickness and to order and wrapped in, at best, greaseproof but probably brown paper. Home delivery possibly by bike? To coin a phrase 'Open all hours'? Now 'Moving on'.
