People’s College was founded in 1846 to provide working-class people with a sound education at a moderate price. It continued, in various guises and at a number of premises, to provide vocational, commercial and technical education until merging with Broxtowe College in 2006 to form Castle College – see http://peoplescollege.co.uk/
