The block of flats called Kilmorie, which caused some disagreement as to its merits when it was built in the 1960s, is reduced to a relatively dark curved mass by the brightness of the sky. It replaced an allegedly fabulous Kilmorie House built on the same spot in 1851. It sits above the mass of the cliff at the end of Meadfoot beach. The lined pattern of the clouds aligns exactly with the roof line of the building but goes on to make a somewhat abstract composition.
