A roughly rectangular lake with sides of about 200 metres and 125 metres, located in the SE of Lydney. About a third of the lake, in the middle, is occupied by an island covered in trees. The lake is the prime venue for Lydney Angling Club. The photo has a clue (two actually) as to what may have inspired the naming of a nearby house, The Mallards.
