The end of the metalled part of Butts Lane, where it turns into a "Byway open to all traffic" and continues to Steeple Ashton. Butts Lane is a reminder of the time when the longbow was England's terror weapon, mostly against the French. Yeomen were expected to practice with the longbow in the butts. They even banned football!
